Description:This introductory course is for all archers who wish to participate in any JOAD or other archery programs, or those who just wish to learn more about archery and begin practicing shooting with a bow. Archers shoot under the guidance of multiple instructors at the WMAC Facility Indoor Shooting Range over a six week period. This course offer participants a chance to learn about archery, archery equipment, and the various types of archery shooting. Use of WMAC bows, arrows, and safety equipment, and a completion medal are included in the course fees. This course is offered to archers 8 years or older (adults welcome and often recommended for parents). Participants may take this class multiple times to reinforce skills if needed/desired. This is NOT a drop-off class – parents of youth archers need to be on-site during the course instruction.

  • $75 for a six-week class, which includes equipment use, safety equipment, instruction, supplies, and instructional materials.
  • Archers MUST BE at least 8 years old to participate.
  • Parents must complete a waiver form prior to the participant being allowed to shoot.
  • Archers are strongly encouraged to use WMAC equipment.  Archers with their own equipment MAY be allowed to use that equipment in class only with the permission of the instructor, which will include a thorough equipment check by the instructor or another coach.
  • In the event of a cancelation of class due to weather, participants should check our Facebook page for any notifications.  If travel conditions are problematic, please use your best judgement.
