Youth Core Archery – Saturdays:  This program is structured as a foundational practice time.  Archers primarily will be working on their core archery skills, building confidence with in the sport and themselves.  Through Coaching and Mentoring, archers can begin to explore the other competitive archery programming that WMAC offers.  Though coaching teamwork, the WMAC coaching staff can help direct archers and families to other WMAC youth archery programming that best fits the archer’s interest and family schedules.

  1. Winter Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  1/5/2019 – 3/30/2019 (No practice February 16)

    2. Shooting Time:  

      1. Session A:  8:30AM – 10:00AM

      2. Session B: 10:30AM – Noon

    3. As always, competitive archers are welcome to shoot from 8:30AM – Noon.  This allows these archers additional practice time.

  2. Spring/Summer – Outdoor/Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  5/4/2019 – 7/27/2019 (No practice June 1, July 6 & 20)

    2. Shooting Time:  9:00AM – Noon

    3. Requirement for outdoor practice, Archers must have their own equipment.

  3. Fall – Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  10/5/2019 – 12/28/2019 (No practice November 23)

    2. Shooting Time:  

      1. Session A:  8:30AM – 10:00AM

      2. Session B: 10:30AM – Noon

    3. As always, competitive archers are welcome to shoot from 8:30AM – Noon.  This allows these archers additional practice time.

Youth Competitive Archery – Wednesday:  This program is structured as a continuation of Saturday Youth Archery Program, with a focus on competitive and tournament archery.  Archers are expected to practice on Saturday and Wednesday.  Coaching is focused on refining the archer’s form and shot cycle and archer’s confidence and endurance.  Requirements for this program:

  • Archers should have their own equipment and have the approval of one or more competitive team coaches.

  • Archer and Parent(s) – must be present for orientation presentation, describing this program and the expectations of both archers and parents.  A group orientation presentation will be given during month of December. Individual orientations may be given at the coach’s discretion.

  1. Winter Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  1/2/2019 – 3/27/2019

    2. Shooting Time:  6:30PM – 8:00PM

    3. Practice structured as a Youth Handicap competitive league.  Ending with prizes / pizza party / a fun money shoot. Coaches focus on refining core archery skills, shot cycles and form.  Goal is to increase archer's confidence, and competitive interest. The league is more about learning to shoot competitively than it is about place standing in the league, so anyone joining after league has begun, will NOT have the opportunity to make up missed sessions.

  2. Spring/Summer – Outdoor/Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  5/1/2019 – 7/31/2019

    2. Shooting Time:  6:30PM – 8:00PM

    3. Practice will be primarily outdoors (FITA Distances & Targets).  Indoor practice will be utilized during inclement weather, or at coach’s discretion for individual archers

    4. The $30 Fee for Outdoor Charity Tournament (June 1st) is included in registration fee.

  3. Fall – Indoor Season:

    1. Date:  10/2/2019 – 12/18/2019 (No practice November 27 and December 25)

    2. Shooting Time:  6:30PM – 8:00PM

    3. Coaching focus on archery form, shoot cycle, building endurance and getting archers ready for 2020 indoor archery tournament season.

Youth S3DA Archery – Monday:  This is an opportunity for our archers to practice competitive archery skills a 3rd time each week. S3DA sessions focus on shooting form, tournament etiquette, scoring on an NFAA target face, and being part of a competitive team. Archers who join S3DA have the opportunity to earn college scholarships based on their performance at national S3DA events.

Archers can register for S3DA as a stand alone program or as part of the Youth Competitive Program. Students from 3rd grade through 12th grade can participate in S3DA. A current S3DA membership is REQUIRED for members of the Youth Competitive Archery program to participate practices, to learn more from the S3DA team CLICK HERE.
